Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Theta Zeta Lambda Chapter's 28th Annual Student Recognition Dinner will take place Friday, May 24, 2024, from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Washtenaw Community College - Morris Lawrence Building (4800 E Huron River Dr. - Ann Arbor, MI 48105).
Area high school seniors who have demonstrated improvement in their academic, social, and life skills will be presented with a one-time $1,500 college scholarship. In addition, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti public high-school juniors, sophomores, first-year students, and mentees of TZL's Esquire Leadership & Mentor Program will be recognized for their academic achievements and various services, respectively.

Michigan 3rd Circuit Court Judge, Nicole Goodson will be our Keynote Speaker.
The Honorable Nicole N. Goodson graduated from the University of Detroit in 1994 and was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1997. She began her career as a Staff Attorney with UAW Legal Services. In 1999 Attorney Goodson joined Legal Aid & Defender Association, Inc. (LAD) representing low-income residents of Wayne County in housing, consumers, real estate, and debt collection matters. From 2005 –2009 Attorney Goodson served as a Partner with the Bingham Law Group, PLLC. In 2009, she rejoined LAD to pursue her passion for serving the underserved and often overlooked low-income residents.
In May of 2017, she was named Chief Counsel/COO for LAD and in December of that same year she was named President & CEO. In November of 2022 Governor Whitmer appointed her to the Wayne County Circuit Court – Family Domestic Division.
